At the point when the unidentified body was expelled from the remains of the inn, his Masonic ring was perceived by a Mason in the salvage party and was seen as engraved n within with Miller’s name,† the Rio Grande Republican announced. A great part of the town showed up for his burial service at the Masonic graveyard in Las Cruces. His passing and the assault on the individual bordertown stunned Las Cruces, however a significant number of its residents and understudies had effectively served along the outskirt in the National Guard as common war seethed in Mexico. It was Just one of a few associations Las Cruces had with the Mexican Revolution and Pancho Villa, who is the focal point of another display at the Branigan Cultural Center. James Hester, a teacher emeritus of human sciences at the University of Colorado, will yuck off the photograph display this Saturday with a discussion about Villa at the social community, which will likewise introduce an extraordinary appearing of a Villa narrative on March 9. Cruces association Almost a hundred years after the attack, Villa stays a dubious and muddled fgure. A state nature park close to Columbus even bears his name, notwithstanding the fierce strike on the town. The attack wasn’t the first run through Las Cruces telt the effect ot the Mexican Revolution that nad fire up Just as New Mexico was at last turning into a state. In late 1911, the one-time-scoundrel turned-progressive had favored recently chosen occupant Francisco Madero. By the accompanying spring, against Madero powers drove by a displeased Gen. Pasqual Orozco had caught a large portion of Chihuahua, aside from the city of Parral still held by Villa. Among Villa’s troops was the Mesilla-conceived Thomas Fountain, the child of Col. Albert J. Wellspring, one of the Mesilla Valley’s most significant nineteenth century figures, who was killed alongside his 9-year old child Henry in 1896. Thomas, whose mother had profound family ties in Chihuahua, was one of several â€Å"foreign† fghters and soldiers of fortune who’d Joined the appealling progressive Villa. That bunch likewise included one of the valley’s progressively strange new settlers, previous Boer War pioneer Benjamin VilJoen of South Africa, who Joined with Madero as a military counsel. Toward the beginning of April 1912, Orozco’s powers were near taking Parral, and were attempting to put a gun on a deliberately crucial point sitting above the city. In any case, Fountain, keeping an eye on an automatic weapon, without any help defeated their endeavors. The Villistas were constrained from the city two days after the fact, yet Fountain stayed behind in his received old neighborhood and was caught. Terrible for business Though American conciliatory endeavors at first halted his execution, the Rio Grande Republican revealed Fountain’s captors permitted him to escape, under the questionable â€Å"law of flight,† just to shoot him in the back in the avenues of Parral. His slaughtering stood out as truly newsworthy and shocked Americans, among them one of New Mexico’s first congresspersons, Albert Fall, who had a confused relationship with Villa and the Mexican unrest, however the Fountain family also. As another congressperson, the bilingual Fall put himself forward as a specialist on Mexico, at last heading up the Senate subcommittee on Mexican undertakings. Fall had been a long-term severe adversary of Thomas’ father, and in 1898 had effectively efended the men blamed for his homicide. At the encouraging ot Thomas’ sibling, Albert, Fall t responsibility for the execution. d to get some sort ot Fall, who’d began his legitimate profession in Las Cruces, was among different local people with broad professional interactions in Mexico that were undermined by the proceeded with political precariousness. Eugene Van Patten, a previous region sheriff, â€Å"Indian fighter,† and fellow benefactor of the nearby New Mexico Militia, possessed the Dripping Springs resort where Villa supposedly visited in any event once. In 1914, the Rio Grande Republican detailed Van Patten and region assessor Duara Peacock tied down an important agreement to purchase held onto Mexican cotton straightforwardly from Villa. Another record reports Van Patten met with Villa in Juarez that equivalent year to ask the arrival of an American-conceived detainee Pedro Chaves, the child of affluent Albuquerque fleece vendor Amado Chaves. From legend to reprobate Any well disposed relations with Villa, who numerous along the America fringe saw as a kind of progressive society saint, dissipated with the strike on Columbus. The inspirations driving the assault stay indistinct. After the death of Modero in 1913, Villa at first won war zone triumphs in orthern Mexico. Yet, by 1916, he was generally on the run, with the U. S. government supporting his enemy, between time president Venustiano Carranza. Some trust Villa required the weaponry and supplies he knew were held in Columbus by a little unexpected of the thirteenth U. S. Rangers. His powers seized ponies and supplies, and at any rate 80 were killed in the one-hour assault. About six Villistas were caught and executed in Deming in June 1916, and a huge American expeditionary power drove by Gen. John J. Pershing was soon in Mexico scanning for the tricky Villa. The school paper the Round Up revealed a large number of its understudies were among that power, which at various occasions based itself in or close to Las Cruces. â€Å"Scores of Aggies, graduated class, and old understudies (have) reacted to the call. The furrow, tool, the slide rule and travel, were dropped, the khaki was wore and with weapon and knife they went forward to keep Pancho Villa on his own side of the line,† the paper detailed Villa stayed out of the hands of Pershing, who by mid 1917 was going to Europe with America’s section into World War l, where a portion of those equivalent Aggies would serve and bite the dust. Select vs. Selected

Select versus Chosen Select versus Chosen Select versus Chosen By Maeve Maddox The English action word select and the modifiers, select and chose, get from a Latin action word meaning, â€Å"to pick, select, set apart.† The two modifiers mean, â€Å"chosen from a bigger number of other things.† However, a helpful differentiation exists among chose and select. chosen This descriptive word shows that something has been picked or chosen from a bigger number; the purpose behind the choice is typically clarified by the unique circumstance. For instance, analysts may follow the dissemination of laborers occupied with â€Å"certain chose occupations.† The occupations have been chosen by measures set by the specialists for their investigation. A bookkeeper needs to know whether she can limit her reports â€Å"only to certain chose users.† The bookkeeper has explicit measures for her determination of individuals who will approach the reports. select This modifier shows that whatever was picked out of a bigger number was picked by virtue of greatness or prevalence. For instance, â€Å"Hermes Paris takes into account a select clientele.† Because Hermes items are costly, select shows that the individuals who shop there are better than others since they have the cash to pay for extravagance things. â€Å"The organization did its employing from a select gathering of school graduates.† Here the utilization of select infers that the alumni were browsed among different alumni by reason of predominant mind and capacity. Both select and chose are famous with publicists, however select is every now and again mistook for chose. Here are a few models from the Web: â€Å"Hyundai offers rebate on chosen vehicle models† Suitable use; a few models are limited, yet not all. â€Å"Remington Shaver Charging Cord for Select Models† Improper use; the sense is that the rope will work with certain models, however not with all. â€Å"LifeProof New Case for Select Apple iPad Models† Wrong use; the sense is that the case will fit a few models, yet not all. Spare select to mean something that is seen to be over the common in quality, cost, acknowledgment, economic wellbeing, or something like that. The accompanying models utilize select in this sense: NFL hostile tenderfoot pick in select organization Uncommon terms permit understudies to go to choose schools in close by states for a small amount of out-of-state educational cost. Bryan Sutton stays with select with the absolute best performers in twang, those artists who may have peers however no bosses. Tutor Spotlight Meet Madeline, Boston MCAT Tutor

This week, we're spotlighting Madeline, one of our incredible MCAT tutors in Boston Madeline is from the coastal town of Brunswick Maine and considers herself a â€Å"mainer† through and through. She attended Middlebury College, majoring in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and graduating magna cum laude. During her time at Middlebury she worked in a Developmental Biology laboratory, examining the effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on fertility. Her undergraduate research inspired her to pursue her current position as a reproductive health researcher at Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in partnership with the Boston Center for Endometriosis. Madeline is thrilled to be tutoring with Cambridge Coaching. Her favorite topics include biology, chemistry, and the MCAT. She loves to share her passion for these subjects with students. In her free time Madeline can be found going for long walks, spending countless hours exploring art galleries and museums, and of course, baking and eating as many cupcakes and other sweet confections as possible. Let's get started with the basics, Madeline. Where are you from? I grew up in the small town of Brunswick Maine, home to Bowdoin College and as many restaurants per capita as San Francisco. Growing up my world was filled with hiking, skiing, and long days at the beach. I feel incredibly lucky to have been raised in a place that was not only safe, but in my heavily biased opinion one of the most beautiful spots on earth. What did you decide to study, and why? I grew up in the small town of Brunswick Maine, home to Bowdoin College and as many restaurants per capita as San Francisco. Growing up my world was filled with hiking, skiing, and long days at the beach. I feel incredibly lucky to have been raised in a place that was not only safe, but in my heavily biased opinion one of the most beautiful spots on earth. What are you up to now? How did you decide to pursue this? I work at Boston Children's Hospital doing Clinical Research in the Adolescent Medicine department. I work in a study that specifically focuses on reproductive health for adolescent and teenage girls. I absolutely love it, for I've always been interested in working with this patient population and women's health has long been one of my passions. Additionally, I knew I wanted to have some experience working directly with patients before medical school so this opportunity was perfect. What do you imagine your life will look like in 5-10 years? In five to ten years my dream would be to be done with medical school and completing a surgical residency or fellowship at an incredible hospital in a great city. I'd also hope to be in a place with easy access to hiking, skiing, and sailing, surrounded by the people that I love. I also hope that, even though I'm busy, I'm still baking cakes and have mastered French buttercream (a current work in progress). What’s a lesson you’ve learned from teaching? It's one that I'll probably never stop learning – how to ask the right questions and then get out of the way so that the student (or patient, or loved one, or whoever) can figure things out on their own. Given the choice of anyone in the world, living or dead, which 3 people would you invite to your dinner party? What do you imagine you'd talk about? Atul Gawande, Ina Garten, and LeBron James. I hope we'd have a conversation far ranging and fun, and cover topics as varied as chocolate soufflà ©s, universal healthcare plans, and Dwayne Wade's trade to the Cavs. Describe your perfect weekend morning. Wake up early, go for a long walk, and have an incredible brunch with someone I care about, hopefully including both maple syrup and whipped cream. What are three alternative career/life paths you have considered (even just for fun?) When I was eight, a lobsterwoman. When I was 15, an interior designer. When I was 23, a wedding cake baker. How do you stay focused and motivated? I try to say yes to any experience and opportunity that comes my way, even if it's a little out of my comfort zone. By pushing myself I can be reminded of what my values are, how I want to conduct myself, and how I want to impact the world. Are you interested in working with Madeline, either in Boston or online? ; Want to learn more about our incredible team of tutors? Check out some of our previous tutor spotlights below! Loneliness to Insanity and Madness in A Rose for Emily...

From Loneliness to Insanity in A Rose for Emily and The Yellow Wall-Paper In The Second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir states that within a patriarchal society woman does not enjoy the dignity of being a person; she herself forms a part of the patrimony of a man: first of her father, then of her husband (82-3). Both Emily Grierson in William Faulkners A Rose for Emily and the narrator of Charlotte Perkins Gilmans The Yellow Wall-Paper are forced into solitude simply because they are women. Emilys father rejects all of her prospective mates; the husband of Gilmans narrator isolates her from stimulation of any kind. Eventually, Emily is a recluse trapped in a deprecated home, and the narrator in Gilmans story is a delusional†¦show more content†¦After living so long as a victim of loneliness perpetrated by her father, Emily decides that she will be vindicated-she will have her man. She orders a toiletry set to be engraved with Homers initials, purchases an outfit and a nightshirt for him, and buys the arsenic that is to seal his fate. When the townspeople enter her house for the first time in forty years, they find a bridal tomb: a tarnished toiletry set, a neatly pressed suit, and a rotting Homer Baron clad in the nightshirt wearing a profound and fleshless grin (87). Just as the patrimony of a man destroys Emily, it also destroys the first-person narrator of The Yellow Wall-Paper, secluded from both life and reality by her over-protective husband. The narrator is both creative and eccentric; her husband is practical in the extreme (160). She believes that congenial work, with excitement and change, would do [her] good (160). Her husband, however, believes in the strength of conventional medicine such as the rest cure for nervous diseases (164). Like Emilys father who denies her a family and a life of her own, the husband of Gilmans narrator denies not only her desire to write, but also her craving for society and stimulus as she struggles to find a creative outlet (160). This appears a type of solitary confinement for such a creative being, and it should come as no surprise that she is crazed after monthsShow MoreRelatedShort Story Comparison1241 Words   |  5 PagesScales 1! Thus, this product in a way satisfies this safety and security need of the customers by providing them a worry free life from the safety and security of their family or monetary assets (Lester 2013). Competitive Analysis Systecnic solutions face competition with other companies who are in this same business offering the customers with ICT facilities. The main completion they faced is from Technoxen- IT solutions, DOS Technologies LLC and I-Trust Systems. Technoxen is taking the customers money being among the leading IT infrastructure and solutions proving on different platforms. Presently, they are the IT equipment supplier of wider network of vendors as well as collaborate across the UAE. Their main customers of Technoxen are spread in different sectors like Hospitality, Telecom, Media, Banking, Healthcare, ISPs, Network Integrators, Networking Consultants and Educational Institutes. Their consumers are mainly from MNCs, large Enterprises, Small and Medium Enterprises to Service Providers, Small Offices and Home Offices (Technoxen.com 2017). On the other hand, competitor is DOS Technologies LLC, which is another Dubai based innovative technology solution supplier. They are mainly famous for the IT solutions, telecommunications, and security and automation systems in Dubai (Dubai and Emirates 2017). This company is of biggest threat to Systecnic Solutions because customers are so satisfied with their products and services that they have highly rated this company. Lastly, I-Trust Systems, which is in the Dubai, market since 2006 with the aim of providing their customers the latest technologies, innovative, reliable security as well as sound system. This organization is a real threat to Systecnic Solutions because they have built up their teams with qualified engineers, technicians as well as experts to provide the most innovative security for their customers. Customers are very satisfied with the working of the employees of this company and thus, this company retains many beneficial customers (I-Trust Systems 2017). Product Systecnic Solution is a seller of electronic goods across Dubai. This organization offers all types of security solutions like CCTV camera, HD-SDI video surveillance system and network IP. However, it is important for this organization to compete in the current market by innovating new features in their product. However, it is important for an organization to improve their product feature or innovate something new to capture the customer attention in the market (Hult and Ketchen 2017). However, Dubai is a technology-oriented country thus; innovation of new technology in this country is beneficial for the electronic goods seller. In the context of Systecnic Solution, it is important for this organization to utilize the advanced technology and develop new products to cover a large portion of the target audience. As per the given scenario, Systecnic solution is going to propose IWATCH as their new product. This is a combination of security cameras with a special security watch. This wil l ensure the security of an organization in a proper and innovative way. However, such innovation of Systecnic Solution will be helpful for this organization to get opportunities in the wearable market. However, wearable technology market has rapid growth in the recent years (Lester 2013). Keeping this in mind Syatenic Solution needs to develop the features of such IWATCH. IWATCH acts as a good activity tracker. This is the major benefit of such watch. Wearing this watch the manager or supervisor of an organization will be much more aware of the employee's activity in the organization. They can keep a tracker about the regular activities of the employees within the office premises. Calling notification is another feature of the IWATCH. However, an individual will be able to be notified by their wristwatch during their work (Silva-Rodrguez et al. 2016). On the other hand, this advanced wearable device acts as the citymapper. That is a quality feature of such product. People will be able to measure the time during their travel. Transportation time can be me asured properly by using this device. This device also acts as the substitutes of passbook. The QR code of a ticket can be scanned quickly by using this watch. Hence, it can be said that, IWATCH is a gift of the modern technology. This highlights the combination of two latest technologies, which makes easier the daily life of the people. The major drawback of this IWATCH is its high price. However, the price of an IWATCH starts from $899. This is very costlier and hard to afford for the all classes of people. Price of a product is directly associated with its sales (Cui and Wu 2016). Hence, the high price of IWATCH may affect its market in those countries where people have been suffering from extensive poverty. On the other hand, an overloaded notification is another loophole of IWATCH. Apart from this launching of this technological device in the Dubai market will be beneficial for Systecnic Solution to expand their business. Figure 1: IWATCH (Source: Lester 2013) Pricing Both internal and the external factor play a major role in the development of the pricing in a business while introducing a new product (Olawale and Joel 2017). In the context of Systecnic solution, they are going to launch IWATCH which is a technological innovation. This product offers a combination of security cameras along with security watch. However, it is important for this organization to set a proper price for the new product, which can be affordable for the consumer and ensure the quality of the product. One of the major internal factors of the pricing is promotional activity. However, a promotional activity of a company is associated with the pricing (Hallberg 2017). In the context of the Systecnic solution if this organization incurs a heavy advertising then they need to high their product price in order to recover the cost, which they will expand for the promotion of the product. However, IWATCH is a costly product hence, it is important for the organization to cut the co st of the promotional activity to set a reasonable rate for this product. Competition is a major external factor of the pricing based on which an organization sets the price of a product (Kienzler and Kowalkowski 2017). Systecnic Solution needs to analyze the degree of competition in the current market of Dubai and. Based on the competitors pricing strategy Systecnic Solution will need to set their pricing. Comparison of the pricing for two direct competitors of Systecnic solution Technoxen DOS Technologies LLC Technoxen is one of the major competitors of Systecnic Solution as they also offer similar products to the UAE market. However, their set price $900 for the IWATCH, which is too costly and not affordable for all customers DOS Technologies LLC is another major competitor of Systecnic Solution. This company also offers IWATCH in the hospitality and MNCs of Dubai. Their price is $850, which is quite less from Technoxen. Table 1: Comparison of the pricing of the competitors (Source: Author) From the above analysis, it has been found that the competitors of Systecnic solution offer similar product at a high price. However, DOS Technologies LLC offers IWATCH in a low price in comparison to Technoxen. On the other hand, Technoxen offers high quality with high price. It is important for Systecnic Solution to select a strategy for their new IWATCH, which will be affordable for the customers and will enable them to gain competitive advantages. They will set $750 for each IWATCH. This pricing strategy will be helpful for this organization to cover a large population in UAE and outside of UAE. This price will be affordable for both small and large enterprise. However, mainly the large enterprises are the major customers of Technoxen. Hence, the setting of this particular price will be effective for Systecnic Solution to attract the small enterprises towards their products. Place After an introduction of the new products, it is crucial for the business to make this product available to the customer domain (Subramanian 2017). In the context of Systecnic Solution, they will launch their product Abu Dhabi Mall and Mall of Emirates. These two places are popular in Dubai and crowded. Thus, launching of new products in these places will be beneficial for Systecnic Solution to gain the customer attention easily. Many businesses are not sold their product directly to the consumers. However, often they use intermediaries for marketing the product. Marketing intermediaries lead the product to the final users (Walker et al. 2017). Wholesaler, retailer, agents, and broker are considered as the intermediaries to market the product. In the context of Systecnic Solution they need retailer and agents to introduce their new product IWATCH in the new place. The retailer will keep the product in their shops and the broker will help Systecnic Solution to connect with the customers. High-class people are the main target audience of Systecnic Solution for their new product IWATCH. On the other hand, adoption of social media marketing will be an effective online marketing strategy for this organization. However, maximum high class people and the customers use social media application to search product and shop them (Tuten and Solomon 2017). Hence, use of the social media marketing via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Systecnic Solution will able to advertise their product in a large population. On the other hand, such online marketing strategy will be beneficial to introduce the product to the customer belong from different geographical regions. Promotion Different promotional channels or media have been used to promote a new product in the customer domain. As for example, print media, television, and web pages are used to by maximum organizations to promote a business (Ramanathan at al. 2017). Print media is a very popular and traditional process to advertise the products in the market. Leaflets, Pamphlets, poster, newspaper, and magazine are the basic elements of print media. In the context of Systecnic Solution print media will be effective to introduce their product to each individual. On the other hand, Television is another media, which is popular for the advertisement of the product. By using this media, Systecnic Solution will be able to attract the customer attention towards their product (Law and Stock 2017). However, Systecnic Solution will able to distribute videos and audio regarding their product details via television. Hence, people get a visual example of their new product via television, which attracts the customers towards this product. Apart from this development of product web page and introduction of this page via social media, will the latest way to introduce IWATCH in a large population. The web page includes detail information along with the pictures of the product. Through this media, the customers will be able to understand the function, price and benefits of IWATCH. In the recent years, people spend a lot of time on social media. Hence, one can share the web page regarding IWATCH with other via the social network, which will increase the popularity of the products. Systecnic Soultion will choose print media to promote their product as it is a low-cost media and is easy to distribute. Application of print media is an old and effective process of advertising. However, one of the major advantages of print media is unlimited exposure. Use of magazine and newspapers cause unlimited exposure. Advertising via print media is a non-intrusive process in comparison to other media. However, in the television and radio, ads are very common, which interrupts the programming process. However, by using print media Systecnic Solution can distribute their product information in the customer domain without any interruption. Advertisement via television and radio create annoyance while people are reading or listening to the news (Nascimento and da Silveira 2017). Hence, by the application of the print media, such interruption can be eliminated. On the other hand, print media allows the organization to introduce their product to the specific target market. As for example, advertisement of IWATCH via magazine creates an appeal to a specific readership. In the context of Systecnic Solu tion they can target the high-class people for their new product who have the capacity to purchase IWATCH. Advertisement through social media may affect the confidentiality of the business as well as the product information (Muhoho-Minni and Lubbe, 2017). Hence, by using, the print media such type of risk can be reduced and confidentiality can be maintained. However, social media advertisement covers the customers who are young and middle-aged. This often resists the old consumers to get information regarding a new product. Hence, print media as for example, newspaper distributes the product information in all types of customer domain. From young aged to old aged people can easily get the information of the IWATCH via the newspaper. Timing and Budget Section Launching time for a product is important for a business while introducing a new product in the market. However, effective timing is helpful for a business to attract their customers and optimize the profit and revenue (Law and Stock 2017). In the context of Systecnic Solution they need to fix a proper time to launch their IWATCH. This organization has selected a time in the next year to launch their product. They will launch their new IWATCH in March 2018. March is considered as the peak season for the business. Hence, launching of the product during this season will be helpful for Systecnic Solution to get a large number of customers for their product. However, it is crucial for an organization to understand the timing when their competitors launch the product (Cui and Wu 2016). Based on this analysis Systecnic Solution will be able to launch their product at a proper time that cannot be affected by the launching of the product by their competitors. Budget is crucial for the organization while developing a new product. However, it is important to set a budget framework at the initial stage of the product development as it helps the organization to understand the expenditure for the new product (Olawale and Joel 2017). Based on the budget, Systecnic Solution will set their product price in order to recover the cost. Particular Amount Total Full-time salary $569,00 $16,7200 Consultants $1400 Training $1600 Outsourcing contact $23,000 Transportation $4,300 Advertising $50,000 Promotional campaign $30,000 Table 2: Budget plan for the IWATCH promotion (Source: Author) According to the above table, it has been received that Systecnic Solution needs $16,7200 to complete the entire promotional plan for IWATCH. However, this high amount will be helpful for this organization carries out their product promotion in a significant manner and they will be able to recover good revenue from this investment. Conclusion The entire study reveals marketing strategy and plan in the context of Systecnic Solution. For the external market analysis PESTLE analysis has been conducted, which shows that political environment of Dubai is positive for the business of Systecnic solution as the political environment is stable. On the other hand, the economy of UAE is strong due massive export of oil. On the other hand, the social life style of the people is good. One of the major advantages of this country is the technological advancement. However, it this country is technology oriented. Thus, innovation of IWATCH will be beneficial for this organization in this country. This product is a combination of security cameras along with security watch. Hence, this product will be beneficial for the people in their fast life. However, the price of this technological device is high and hard to afford for the all classes people. This is a major weakness of this product. On the other hand, this product is suitable for the business organization, as it will help the business authority to measure the activities of the employees within the office premises. However, Technoxen and Dos technology are the major competitors of Systecnic Soultion in the UAE market. However, Systecnic Solution will focus on the print media rather than other media for the promotion of their IWATCH. This media is effective for unlimited exposure and it is also a cost-effective process. On the other hand, the entire budget will be $167,200 for the promotion of this product. Mechanical Energy Essays (502 words) - Energy Development, Energy

Mechanical Energy Have you ever wondered how a jet aircraft lifts its tremendous weight off the ground, or what gives a runner the stamina to reach the finish line in a race? In order to answer all these questions we must talk about the transformation of one sort of energy into another. The jet aircraft gets its power from jet turbines. These powerful jet engines create a high-pressure stream of very hot gases that push the aircraft forward as they leave the engine. This is an example of heat being transformed into movement. This is sometimes described as Mechanical Energy. However, this transformation could not take place without the fuel that the aircraft gets within its wings or fuselage. Fuel is considered a chemical energy. Fuel can take the form of gases, solids or liquids. When fuels combine with oxygen from the air, they release their stored energy as heat. We recognize this process as burning. The individual relies on food for fuel which contains energy-giving substances that our bodies can store until we need this energy to use our muscles. When we do use our muscles within us, we may not always be sure that heat is given off. Our bodies do not burst into flames but the perspiration on our skin is a clue to what is happening. The movement of the windsurfer has a different explanation. The windsurfer is propelled along by a sail which collects mechanical energy from the winds that sweep along the water. This energy has been produced by the sun which warms the earth's surface and sets the air above in motion. The sun's heat comes to the earth as a form of radiant energy. When the heat reaches the surface of the earth, it causes the land or seas to rise in temperature. The sun is very hot. Infact, the center of the sun can reach temperatures of up to 27 million degrees Fahrenheit. This is because of another kind of energy reaction where new substances are continually being created as others are being destroyed. This reaction is known to us as the Nuclear Reaction. Today we are trying to imitate this reaction in improving our energy supply. Scientists have calculated that the sun has enough fuel to go on producing energy at its present rate for about five billion years. On earth man-made nuclear reactions are used to produce a form of power we know as electricity. Electricity can be transformed into other kinds of energy such as heat, light and radio waves. Humans have also used the idea of nuclear reactions as a type of weapon. We call this powerful weapon the Atomic Bomb. Electrical energy can also be used to produce laser beams. This involves energy being concentrated to a specific narrow point where the impact of so much power creates heat able to cut through metals. Free Essays on Comparing The Details

â€Å"The Scarlet Ibis† by James Hurst and â€Å"The Cask of Amontillado† by Edgar Allen Poe are both about conflicts between other characters; however, one story has a tone of anger and meanness, while the other has a tone of sadness and sorrow. First and foremost, both stories are alike because one of the characters in both stories kills another character. In â€Å"The Cask of Amontillado,† the killing that takes place is intentional. Montresor kills Fortunato because he seeks revenge against him. The reason Montresor seeks retaliation against Fortunato is because Fortunato commits an intolerable attack, which is unstated. Montresor mortars Fortunato in an underground cellar because of the attack that Fortunato commits against Montresor. Once they get in the cellar, Montresor chains Fortunato up without any food or water. He then begins to mortar Fortunato in, leaving him to die. In â€Å"The Scarlet Ibis,† the narrator, which is Doodle’s brother, unintentionally kills his brother. In the last part of the short story, there is a lightning storm and the narrator leaves Doodle behind. Knowing that his brother cannot stay up to pace with him he begins to run as fast as he can. When the narrator ca nnot hear his brother anymore, he retraces his steps and finds Doodle with his head buried in his arms with drawn-up knees. He discovers that Doodle is dead. Doodle is bleeding from the mouth, and his neck and the front of his shirt are stained red. He causes the death by trying to be mean in the first place. Even though Doodle is not normal, the narrator is trying to force Doodle to be a normal human being like everyone else. One reason he wants him to be normal is because when they go out in public Doodle embarrasses his brother. He does not do it on purpose though. Get your custom sample essay for only $13.90/page ? The realization that education is a critical component of my professional and personal success has been a gradual realization for me. However, I believe that with my current conviction about the importance of education, I will be able to achieve great success in Central Washington University’s MBA program. As a teenager I did not always understand the importance of education in regard to my professional and personal development. During my high school years and early college years, I cared more about sports and hanging out with my friends, than getting good grades. As a result, my grades suffered and I did not benefit as much from my classes as I could have when I was younger. Throughout these years, my Dad encouraged me and tried to motivate me to put more effort into my studies. It was through his positive encouragement and an accounting class that I took with Ms. Smith that finally changed my entire outlook on education. Not only did Ms. Smith pull me aside and tell me that I was not working up to my potential, but she made me see that what we were studying really mattered to my life. I realized that if I was going to be successful in life I would have to apply myself and master the material I was learning in my classes. Since I came to this realization, I have been working harder in all of my classes to become more knowledgeable and educated person. Currently I am working to ensure my academic success by working hard in my classes and preparing to get a masters degree in business administration. I now put my classes as top priority in my life and also use my free time to better myself as well. As a younger kid I gave very little thought to what I did in my free time, and thus spent the majority of my free time playing video games and hanging out with friends. However, as I have come to my realization that education and knowledge are critical to my personal and professional success, I now prefer to read books and other publications about all sorts of topics to develop my understanding of the world I live in. Furthermore, I have taken a variety of math and business classes as an undergraduate student to better prepare myself for my career goals. To ensures my success in these classes, I have consistently taken advantage of professors’ office hours and tutoring sessions whenever I need extra help in a certain area. My primary goal is to get a Masters Degree in business administration in order to gain the knowledge and experience I need to start my own business. I am extremely eager to learn as much as possible about succeeding in the business world, and I believe that Central Washington University will feed my thirst for knowledge with quality classes and knowledgeable professors. I hope that this program will help me accomplish my goals by teaching me the leadership skills, strategic planning skills, as well as the general knowledge I would need to be successful businessman. I also believe that both the students and faculty at CWU will be people I can relate to and learn from. I have also heard that this specific program at CWU strives to give its students as much hands-on experience as possible to better prepare them for the real-world. This educational philosophy is aligned with my needs as a student, and it will help me to turn my ambitions into a reality. I believe that the combination of hands-on-experience, motivated peers, newfound skills will help me to achieve my lofty goals once I finish this program. Admissions Essay. (2016, Aug 15).

Key challenges facing school going girls during their adolescent stage in Sierra Leone include Another notable aspect that makes the rate of school absenteeism to be high among the 9-14 years old is lack of latrines that are separated based on the gender. According to UNICEF, Majority of schools also lack latrines as well as private areas where girls can wash themselves (Marni et al, 2012). Widening a Bridge called Wonboyn River bridge Assignment

Widening a Bridge called Wonboyn River bridge - Assignment Example There will be the risk of the bridge construction falling. The transportation has to wait for the dry season for the slabs to pass through dry ground. The components of the bridge at this point require minimum tension until the slabs are laid and until they dry up. Alternatively, the constructors can transport the slabs across the river through the old pier. The pier is strong and can support the movement of all equipment and construction materials. If they must be transported across the river, then there must be large stable boats to carry them across the flowing river. Figure 1: Under bridge support 1.1. Safety of the transport The weights of the slabs have to be controlled so that the boat cannot capsize in the water. At the same time, the strength of the slabs and the shape has to remain intact. In the decision to pass the slabs through the old pier, the construction company can use larger stronger transport means such as Lorries. However, the construction company will have to ac quire a crane to enable them lift the heavy slabs during the actual laying of the slabs and the accompanying concrete. The progress of the construction cannot be interfered with by the transportation of then materials. The two processes can move on concurrently. The transportation of the slabs has to take care of other road users because the old bridge and the old pier are the only remaining alternative channels of transportation (Mecanismo, 2011). The weight of the post-tensioned slabs is a critical factor to consider when deciding on the means of transport. 1.2. Inspection After boring the piles, they are then left freely and out of the water, the site engineer inspects the progress and makes the plan for anchoring the structure. The anchors serve the function of reaching thee layer of shale on the Wonboyn River Bridge. It also provides tensile strength to support the piles of slabs and the structure above them. The anchors are made up of rock bolts. They are fixed in place before the concrete is added on the piles. 2. Fixing post-tensioned slabs to piers with dowel 2.1. Factors to consider The process of fixing the post-tensioned slabs is a heavy activity, which requires heavy equipment. The project managers must allocate the points at which the crane will be stationed such that the slabs will be able to reach both the pier and the dowel. The construction project heavily depends on the slabs because their lengths imply that they will have to hold the entire weight of the passing bodies. The project managers and the engineers have the mandate to select the regions their priority, which they have to report to the governing bodies controlling of the water resource management, electricity supply, gas supply and the provision of communications services. 2.2. Alternative routes for diversion During this construction phase, the road users have to seek alternative routes to avoid the pier and give enough space for the laying of the post tensioned slabs. This ensure s that there is no risk of miscalculating the position of the pier and the dowel by the engineers. They have to be aware of the impact of the services which they offer contact to the environment and the quality that is expected of the bridge. This process can consume around one month if all conditions are favorable. Figure 2: Support Structure of the bridge The activity that is most likely to follow it is the laying of bitumen and leveling the road. This can commence about two months later to provide adequate time for the post tensioned slabs to dry up. Incidentally, there is no mechanism of testing how strong the construction is when it is complete. The only test in this context is the actual usage of the road and that essentially means the road has

Attack on World Trade Center :: history

Attack on World Trade Center Terrorism is the bug of 21 century. Throughout history it has appeared in many various ways: hijacked planes, ships, trains. But never was terrorism committed in such a terrible way as on Tuesday, September 11 in New York City. This tragedy affected us all. It was nice Tuesday morning. Everybody were rushing to their jobs in the most beautiful and remarkable city of the world. Planes in the sky were usual routine of this city at this time. Manhattan was ready to welcome millions of its residents and tourist. Everybody were going about their businesses. There was illusion that nothing can disturb this normal existence. Rapidly, two passenger planes, like envoys of terror, crashed into both towers of the World Trade Center. Pieces of debris came down with a terrifying thunder. Screams of terror could be heard through hearts of thousands people from all over the world. Ten minutes later, people all over the world with shocking fear could observe how two highest buildings of the world were collapsing carrying away thousands of innocent lives. People stood staring in awe at the empty space, which once was the Tenth Wonder of the World. Now, this is just a cloud of dust. Many firefighters and police officers rushed into the burning buildings to save innocent lives. At this time they weren’t thinking about their own lives. I woke up about 9 o'clock. As usual I turned on the TV. I saw a terrible image of one tower and a lot of smoke was coming out of it. Still not realizing what was happening, I went to another room to pack my stuff in order to go to college. At this time I was thinking that it was just a regular fire and nothing serious. When I got on the bus I saw unusual commotion among people. I could feel panic and fear among people. I wanted to use my cell phone to call my friend to find out if he’s ok, but it did not work. Everybody were talking about the attacks of terrorists, but I never thought that World Trade Center could collapse, just disappear. I heard that Twin Towers collapsed when I was in my music class. I still could not realize what was happening in NY. I got out from Brooklyn College and I went to Flatbush Avenue. There I saw skies full of black smoke.

People always try to find the suitable study methods to upgrade the effectiveness. Either studying in a group or studying alone is the better way has caused public debate. Some people hold that there is no denying that studying in a group exerts positive impact on many aspects. First and foremost, studying in a group, the principal methods in many schools, is beneficial to mutual understanding, which will enhance students’ communication abilities.Besides, the efficiency of solving problems will definitely be improved, for they can get he lp from partners. Last but not least, Student can study well when he is studying with a group of students because he can get good ideas from others which he don't know and more over he will not feel bore while he is studying. If he got any doubts while studying, he can clarify the doubts immediately. Other people strongly claim that there are many students who have got great achievements by studying alone insisting that independent study is feasible and more effective. To put it another way, one can study without any disturbance. While studying alone he can't get good ideas. If he got any doubt, it cannot be clarify by his own. Then it will be time waste for him. For example, while he is studying alone if the subject is not interest to him, his mind may get divert from the subject and concentration will be lost. First, I will go to the school to do a survey about study in the class. Second, the questionnaire topic is probably about do you think study in group? And, which way is bette r for you? Is studying in group or studying alone? Third, I would ask some questions to some parents and teachers.Key word: good way to study, group study, study alone, high school, distance education, one-on-one tutoring 1. Introduction 1. Background In the 21st century, most of the family has an only child out of the police in china. Such a child is an apple in the eyes in a family. It is every parent's desire to give their children the best start in life, they would like to search a best way to their children and get a great education. Almost all students were tutored by one-on-one. And some students have an experience of distance learning. At the same time, the traditional educational means confronts a huge challenge. Some parents support their child study alone because of they believe that it is a good way to concentrate on his or her study. Currently there has been a fierce debate over whether students should go to school study in group or study alone at home. Views on the hot issue vary greatly. Advocates of studying alone hold the benefits of students are well documented. Students who study at home by themselves are often described as more confident, independent and worldly wise than schools’ student counterpart. Because of they need to independently read more books and webpage to look for more information. Moreover, there are many ways to acquire knowledge, such as distance learning, one-on-one class and soon on. Students can choose a good way to study according to different situation. Worst of all, reports are often heard that some students committed suicide or murdered their roommates. So that, some people choose to study alone and even gave up the opportunity of go to school due to severe pressure from the student will be compare with others. On the other hand, innovative as distance-learning technology may be, it can supersede classrooms altogether. True education should not be confined to the delivery of information. It should involve the cul tivation of effective learning habits, the development of group discussion skills and the encouragement of collaboration as well, which we cannot find in online course. More importantly, campus-based education tend to foster a mentoring partnership between educators and learners while in reality, distance education rarely helps to establish a mentoring relationship between the faculty members and the students, due to the long physical distance. Amid these people who have argued in study ways the high students take up quite large proportion.According to a net of education, at least half of high schools’ students go through tutoring alone. And most students’ parents willing to spent money on study alone. Thus if you want to research the good way to study, you must focus on high school students. There are many reasons to choose the students of high school as respondents. Firstly, students have more experience than other school of basic education. Secondly, there is bitter competition for student. As is well know the college entrance exam is a real challenge to students, students want to do their best to meet the challenge. Thus they will choose a good way to study at any cost. Finally, and above all, the competition is fierce and the nine-hour test is offered just once a year and is the sole determinant for admission to virtually all Chinese colleges and universities. Moreover, the college entrance examination is seen as potentially life-changing. If you enter a university through the exam, your life career and future life will be decide. Everyone attaches great importance to this exam. In recent years, the field of education becomes a hot industry. Meanwhile, more and more problems appear in education. For school study, they always make a ranking and everyone can see the results of other students to see all the students of all grade rankings. This measure will undoubtedly bring them great pressure to study, even affect health and life. We often read the news student suicides of form the news paper. However, student is more confidence who study alone at home. They can get the tutoring which is face-to-face. It is a very good and effective way of learning. But it is not a good way to good communication skills and has team work spirit. 2. Statement of the problem Each one has its own superiority.During the researching course, I try to analyze and study to this problem from different point of view. I research many different questions, such as which ways of study of you like, do you think some problem exist in study in a group, how long you will study at home everyday and soon on. I survey this question due to we need know whether students more efficient who study alone, whether more and more student don’t like study at school, whether there are some problems exist in tradition education, whether study alone is better than studying in a group, whether parent sand teachers of students support to study alone and so on. . Review of literature According to this literature, there are other factors affect students. Its action cannot small inspect. Firstly, it’s important to spend your time productively. Students need to make a clearly plans and schedule, meanwhile, they should to learn the top student has no intrusions on study time. Secondly, every student should seek out a method of learning which is suit to him/her. They cannot copy other people’s ways due to the different level of different students. Finally, if you don’t have any interesting in study and even don’t know why you need to study, you cannot get a high score even if you stand in a good group or have a good tutor. They need improve their skill and have fun. Indeed, study skills are not the most important things. But there are the bases of study. When you finish it, the environment will become more important. To be sure, people are different. Everyone should to choose a way which is adapt to him or her to study. For t his literature, we know that there are main ways to study. One of this is belong to studying in a group and others are belonging to study alone. They are group study, one-on-one tutoring and distance education. Group study is benefit to establish the confidence of students. It can easily build team spirit among classmate. If you are one member of a group, you will be watching by other members in the group. You will have to try harder due to you wanting to more successful and getting the credit for. Moreover, a group likes a piece. Everyone will do their best to help you when your stand in the same group. Solving problem will become easier, because you're not alone, and there is strength in numbers! At the same time, a problem exists in the group.A member of group in charge of a part so that they cannot understand the whole of one topic which is his or her group researched. If you study alone, you need do anything by yourself. It is a better way to acquire new knowledge and research q uestions. The tutoring of one-on-one is benefit to everyone due to the pertinence of student. When you distract to some things, you will not worry didn't hear what the teacher was saying. If you could not compass the simplest problems, you could ask your tutor and do not worries to be laughed by other classmate. And teacher will follow you and choose the best way and important course to you. However, we cannot overlook the disadvantage of this way. First, if you choose tutoring of one-on-one, you will lose the power of activities with other classmates. I maybe feel tired and boring for study alone. Second, it is not easy to find out a textbook to adapt you. Third, you do not know the level of tutoring teacher. You maybe cannot meet a teacher which tutor is suit to you. Distance education has the advantage of low-cost and easy to save time. Students can study on anywhere and any time. Compare with one-on-one tutor is a good way to save money and get pointed comments on study. But it st ill has some problems. First, there are a lot of tutor from 3rd world due to they want to save money. They do not know the system of your country and cannot give you a good idea of study. Moreover, sometimes we cannot meet the on-line tutor to know about teaching level. Lastly, teaching on-line is not a good way to communication with teacher. Because the internet is not very stability, the speed is very slow. Sometimes we will loss some information due to the latency. If you can learning of face-to-face, you can use the body language explain your mind. 3. Design and Measurements usedThere are three kinds of people are relative to this survey. They are parents, teachers and students. Thus, the questionnaire includes three aspect questions to different people. However, the high school students who will accept more in-depth questions as the main respondents. The questionnaire consists mainly of three parts. In the first place, the question is about the basic information of all particip ants. And, the participants will be arranging to different groups according to the basic information. For example, girls and boys will have different choice when they face to some things. If students can choose the school, girls maybe focus on school uniform which school’s is more beautiful and boys will be attracts to excellent sporting facilities. In the second place, the question is about the extant problems and advantage. Such as, what problem you face in study in a group or study alone. This part will be conducive to we find out the problem in the two ways and help us solve current problems more correctly to choose a good way to study. Finally, the investigations are focus on the expectantly things. Such as, which ways you want to add in your study process. We need know which ways of study of people like in further and therefore further research. 4. Result The survey shows that there are seventy percent students choose studying in a group is a good way to study. There are two reasons: Two-thirds of this people gave reason is that they cannot make a good plan and control themselves. One-thirds of this people gave the reason is that they can make new friend and have activities with others. But sixty percent of these persons have experience to study alone by one-on-one tutoring. And nearly ninety people would like to try to study alone in future.Students who support study alone are a good way to study about thirty percent. Most people think that it is a great help for my quick improving the score. However, nine out of ten people claim that it is a method to help study but it is the main way to study. One ninth of the students choose to get the tutor by one-on-on due to they need to be target. A tenth of the students choose the on-line tutoring. They believe that it can save money and easy to control the teaching time. The last part is about the parents and teachers of students. Almost all parents and teachers support study in a group. But they always bel ieve that if their children and students would like to improve the level of student they will to encourage these students. 5. Conclusion My question is that what is better way to study? It can be found there are many ways to study. Firstly, study skills are important whatever you studying in a group or study alone. Secondly, the research show that most people think group study is better to study. Lastly, studying alone only as the assistant study method. However, some students are favor to study alone who are an average student or a poor student. They believe that they can get the effective guidance from the one-on-one tutoring. Other students are support studying in a group who are top student. They claim that it is unnecessary spent to a private teacher. For teachers and parents, they have the same viewpoint. Study alone is a way to help student to improve themselves, but it is not the best way to study. If the student can understand the knowledge in the class, study alone is not n ecessary. 6. Discussion The survey only includes the high school student, and only search the answer form my brother’s class. The class only have 60 members is not enough to a prefect research. For the party of teacher and parents, the research is more imperfection due to small group in search. So the study is no authoritative answer to these questions. And there also have some problem in this research. For example, there have many ways to study, such as, study in a teaching center, study by yourself and soon on. But I only search the study in group. And the way of study alone also has many ways. This paper only aim to a small group who study in high school. Actually, there has a small group study alone now.All in all, the survey has its limitation. [pic] 7. Recommendations 1. Research recommendation Firstly, you need to read a lot of articles what you want to research. Because this can help you gain a main idea of the field. Meanwhile, you will get the different perspectives from different authors. Moreover, making notes is also important to search a problem. Due to we need to understand what the articles say. It is not only to copy it. Next, most information is coming from the Internet which is not regular compare with other academic books. We should go to the library to find information.Lastly but not least, the investigator needs to search from different groups in a particular community and different level. One fields people is different to other fields. 2. Issue-related recommendations First of all, the people should focus on a variety of ways to ask questions. For example, Likert scale guarantees a survey to including the overall aspects of the problem which is very useful. We can ensure that the length of the questionnaire, which respond may a few time. And, there has a easy way to ask questions of the model. Another example is APA style, it is also a good way to sure where the literature. It not only useful to writer to found out more point, but a lso telling the reader where the point from. It is a good way to make you researcher more regular and have authority. Employment Equity And Its Effect On Income Inequality

INTRODUCTION In 1986, the Canadian Government created Employment Equity Act, which requires federal employers with hundred and more employees, specifically in the banking, transportation and communication industries, to report to the government annually on whether and to what extend have they promoted and attained the employment Equity’s goals for designate groups under the act, namely white women, aboriginal people, visible minority and disable person (Barker 2008). The Treasury Board of Canada, in the same year, released a policy framework for public service departments and agencies to identify/remove systemic barriers in their departments to increase the participation of designated groups; adopt special measure to address imbalances in the Canadian workforce; and, to meet the numerical objective of Employment Equity Policy to increase the representation and dissemination of the four mentioned groups (Barker 2008). The thesis of this paper is to prove that employment equity is fair and n ecessary to diminish income inequality. To do so, the paper first reviews the available literatures and schools of thought. Then, the paper focuses more on addressing the thesis and providing evidences to support the argument. The paper ends with a short conclusion. The paper utilized Canadian laws, court cases, academic books and journal articles to state the arguments and support evidences. Is Employment Equity Fair and Necessary?
